Flowing bands of black UV paint move across luminous glow blue acrylic in sweeping organic waves inspired by suminagashi, the ancient Japanese marbling practice where ink drifts across water to create fluid patterns. The forms bend and stretch across the surface like currents or topographic lines, creating a bold contrast between deep black shapes and the radiant blue field beneath.

This panel is one half of a two-piece diptych, designed so that when paired with its companion panel the pattern continues seamlessly, forming a larger continuous suminagashi composition across both pieces.

The artwork is screen printed in black UV paint onto glow-in-the-dark blue acrylic, giving the surface a subtle radiance that shifts with changing light conditions.

The acrylic panel floats slightly away from the backing surface using plastic spacers and is secured with black coated metal machine screws at each corner, creating a clean architectural presentation and soft shadow gap.

Mounted on a spray painted white wooden artboard with stained and sealed wood grain sides, the piece combines graphic movement with a minimal structural display.
